Knowing What to Expect

Preparing for surgery can feel overwhelming or scary if you don’t know what to expect. You may have some unanswered questions and worries that make you feel this way. Knowing what to expect will help you feel less nervous and more in control.

Orthopaedic Surgery – Orthopedic (sometimes spelled orthopaedic) surgery is surgery performed by an orthopedic surgeon, trained to deal with problems that develop in the bones, joints, and ligaments of the human body.

Spine Surgery – Spine surgery is a procedure that aims to change a patient’s anatomy, such as removing a herniated disc that is causing pain, with the purpose of providing pain relief of the cervical and lumbar spine.

Pain Management – Pain management encompasses pharmacological, non-pharmacological, and other approaches to prevent, reduce, or stop pain sensations.

Joint Replacement – Joint replacement is the surgical replacement of a joint with an artificial prosthesis.

NAVIO Robotic-Assisted Surgery – The physicians have the option of using the NAVIO system to perform robotics-assisted partial and total knee replacement. The technology allows the surgeon to individualize each patient’s knee replacement surgery, and use robotic assistance for accurate and precise results.

General Surgery – General surgery is the treatment of injury, deformity, and disease using operative procedures diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the ear, nose, and throat.

Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery – Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery is the treatment of diseases of the ear, nose, and throat.

Ophthalmology – Ophthalmology deals with the anatomy, physiology and diseases of the eye, and encompasses the medical and surgical treatment of eye problems.
